Faith is an Alien (Be-friending Atheists)

*Deep Thought for early Sunday a.m.
"Blogging helps re-inscribe and sometimes even break down existing academic structures that are obstacles of the mind..."
(took me 3 days to come up w/ that one) =]

...that said, "How would you be-friend an atheist?" (one who denies the existence of God)

~In~the~Light~ 's Top Three Tips on Blogging Love on Atheists
1. Keep it Amiable - be friendly, sociable and civil
2. Avoid 'Xian-ese' - "____", ...just avoid it...
3. Be Real - (be prayed up) speak the truth in love

*Addendum: Love the sinner, hate the sin (Don't call them 'the Others')

Blog me...Let's have your Top Three Tip's on Blogging Love on Atheists.

~Enjoy your Sunday folks...Monday's on the way!

Deconstructing a Stick Horse

~Life is full of mystery & revelation...(Is your life ever like this ?)

After attending a birthday party, my five year old (who loves to "deconstruct" things) came galloping in on a new "Stick Horse" that he received as a party favor.

*[que Building a Mystery-Sarah McLachlan]
As the remainder of the evening wore on, I began to notice (step on) bits and pieces of "horse hair, horse eyes and horse staples" (Ouch!). Yes, the "deconstruction" had begun...
(But where was that "horse stick"...errr, "Stick Horse" ?)

*[Revelation/Solving the Mystery]
I was blown-away at bedtime when this revelation took place.
My clever little one looked up and smiled at me and (peeling back his sheets) said,
"Dad, did you know there was a Light Saber hidden inside my Stick Pony ?"
**I think God loves to "build mysteries" and "allow for revelation" in our lives.
***Are you being "d-e-c-o-n-s-t-r-u-c-t-e-d"? Be encouraged little one...
(Let your Light shine before all men today)

Randomly Re-writing Songs

Do you ever catch yourself "re-writing" songs in your head ?

~I did this all the time growing up as a kid, especially during the Dog Days of Summer (July & August)... And I still find myself on occassion making parodies of popular songs, hymns and praise songs.

Sample #1: I Write the Songs
Barry Manilow (I know...YUCK!)
I Re-write the Songs

I re-write the songs that make the whole church sing
I re-write the songs of love and special things
I re-write the songs that make the worship leader cry
I re-write the songs, I re-write the songs...

"No Church, No Problem?"

~Are christians truly becoming "revolutionaries", "life-coaches" & "internet-independents" who are rising above submitting themselves to the leadership of a pastor in a local Christ-centered church?

... Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near (Heb. 10:23-25).

*Hope to see you in church on Sunday!

Faith

*KSBJ 89.3FM Morning Show (Houston) ~ "Faith-It's not about how you feel, it's about Who you know."
[...I'd like to add, "It's also what you know." Brothers & Sisters, be not ignorant in your faith.]
~Has anyone checked out your pastor's sermon/reviewed your sermon notes this week to begin some application of what you know versus what you feel???
