Deconstructing a Stick Horse

~Life is full of mystery & revelation...(Is your life ever like this ?)

After attending a birthday party, my five year old (who loves to "deconstruct" things) came galloping in on a new "Stick Horse" that he received as a party favor.

*[que Building a Mystery-Sarah McLachlan]
As the remainder of the evening wore on, I began to notice (step on) bits and pieces of "horse hair, horse eyes and horse staples" (Ouch!). Yes, the "deconstruction" had begun...
(But where was that "horse stick"...errr, "Stick Horse" ?)

*[Revelation/Solving the Mystery]
I was blown-away at bedtime when this revelation took place.
My clever little one looked up and smiled at me and (peeling back his sheets) said,
"Dad, did you know there was a Light Saber hidden inside my Stick Pony ?"
**I think God loves to "build mysteries" and "allow for revelation" in our lives.
***Are you being "d-e-c-o-n-s-t-r-u-c-t-e-d"? Be encouraged little one...

faith, hope & love,

Hi there,

This comment is not related to this particular post, but I saw your comment on my friend Kris's blog, so here I am. I almost bought "Why we're not emergent" on my last book spree, but I already had an armload of books. Would you recommend it?

I'm reading "The Reason for God" by Tim Keller - highly recommend it (I've posted an excerpt on my blog). "The Tangible Kingdom" is also a very thought provoking read...

Glad to have found your blog.

Howdy...Thanks for posting.

"Not Emergent" is a good read.

***Currently, the Church needs to "chew on the burnt coffee" 'cuz the enemy's "done made the do-nuts" and we're already "eatin' lots of those" and "gettin' phat" on "style & showmanship" not "Truth & Light".***

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog.

Your comment was touching, I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

This post was adorable. Children amaze me, an adult would have just been ticked that their horse fell apart!

Glad you found my blog so that I found yours in return!
